The Opportunity
We now have the opportunity for multiple Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanics to join our team across Greater Sydney on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be part of a team reporting to the depot supervisor, and area manager, and will be servicing, maintaining and repairing our fleet of waste and recycling trucks.
We have a variety of workshops across Sydney, and we are looking for mechanics to join us at our Auburn, Banksmeadow, Cromer, and Brookvale locations.
Our standard work hours are Monday-Friday, with a 10 hour shift between 5am-5pm, flexible to suit your needs and lifestyle.
In this role, you will be:
- Performing daily maintenance works
- Working as a team to complete full services
- Conducting repairs as needed
- Conducting emergency repairs in the workshop and on-site as needed
You'll be great in this role because:
To thrive in this role, you will need to have a minimum Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic Technology with experience as a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic. Ideally, you will have previous experience in the waste industry, but if not, we will provide you with all the required training to repair and maintain our waste trucks in line with safety requirements. Safety is of utmost importance to us, and we are seeking someone who can follow instructions and ensure our safety protocols and procedures are adhered to.
We are looking for individuals who are eager to get stuck into work and get things done. You will be able to effectively assess complications with our waste trucks, know what to do to fix it and be confident to make the repair. As we work in teams and collaborate together to service and repair waste trucks, you will be able to clearly communicate what you’re doing with your team, and be able to communicate timelines with your supervisor and drivers.
Please note that drug and alcohol screening is mandatory for compliance and safety requirements. Therefore, you must be comfortable completing these checks as part of your pre-employment checks and ongoing employment with URM Group.
